Sometimes we hide our pain or get stuck on the how of life. However, starting counseling is a courageous act on the path to finding the why. My why is to help the community that I grew up in with genuine compassion for each person who is struggling. I believe it is important to heal the mind and body together. Even though our body is resilient, it can hold onto things. And our mind can get stuck in loops of negative thoughts or stories in the form of shame, guilt, fear, or resentment. Like gardening, weeds can take over and the only way to reduce them is pulling out the roots. Together we get to the root causes, look at them rationally, and build a toolkit to help build your why or create new stories. You are the expert for your life, I just act as a guide. Beginning the therapy process can sometimes feel like hiking a 14er, but I will be there every step of the way.
If it aligns, I can incorporate faith-based counseling, or mindfulness techniques. I look forward to our journey together and seeing what your new story will be. |
