Q

What coaching credentials does this practice have?

Picture
Currently Jenny is the only one who has a coaching certification at our practice. She has the distinction of Associate Certified Coach through the International Coaching Federation.

How does the International Coaching Federation define coaching?

“Coaches partner with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential. Coaches are trained to listen, to observe and to customize their approach to individual client needs. They seek to elicit solutions and strategies from the client; they believe the client is naturally creative and resourceful. The coach’s job is to provide support to enhance the skills, resources and creativity that the client already has.”

How does Jenny define coaching?

Life coaching provides a distinct service that helps clients work on their goals for the future and create a new life path. The relationships coaches establish with their clients are also more collegial in nature. Coaches and clients work in a less structured environment, as a team, rather than setting up a “expert-client/patient” relationship.

How does this differ from therapy/counseling?

Therapists spend more time examining the past, healing emotional wounds/traumas, looking for solutions to emotional concerns, and seeking a diagnosis (if one is needed). Counseling focuses on moving people from a state of dysfunction to one of being functional. Most clients who choose the therapy route expect/want a more therapist defined path for their treatment, versus the client assessing and creating their own goals.

What type of client is perfect for Coaching?

  • Not currently living in a state of heavy dysfunction
  • Motivated for change
  • Able to create and achieve goals with minimal accountability
  • Seeking a collaborative growth journey
  • Minimal or managed presence of mental illness (depression, anxiety, OCD)
  • Ability to form and maintain healthy support systems

Coaching tends to focus on what four areas?

  • Defining goals
  • Formulating a plan that will use the client’s skills
  • Holding the client accountable for progress
  • Providing structure, encouragement and support

Q

Do I qualify for coaching?

Because coaching is not state or federally regulated, Jenny is able to see clients from anywhere in the world. This is one of the beauties of coaching and because of this the only thing needed for a coaching client to be successful (besides what is mentioned above) is a solid, reliable internet connection for video coaching sessions.

How is payment collected for coaching?

PayPal and Zelle are the two online payment options. PayPal seems to be the most reliable for international clients as it will properly exchange all world currencies.

How often are coaching sessions scheduled?

Jenny treats every client as unique in this aspect. There is no requirement for how frequently sessions must be scheduled. Jenny works with each client to create a scheduling plan that works best for them both financially and logistically.

What clientele does Jenny work with most frequently in coaching?

“A large chunk of my coaching clients have a mild to moderate OCD diagnosis. I always assess to make sure these clients are stable enough to benefit from coaching and I have seen huge amounts of success in this population. They can do their homework and stay accountable to the goals they have set for themselves. Outside of this population, I also work with women all over the USA who want to incorporate both faith (Christianity) and identity work into their desired outcomes from coaching.
