Walking through life with people is probably one of the most intimate experiences we can have on this side of Heaven. For me, to be invited into people's stories and experiences is an honor I never tire of.
A great mentor of mine once told me that a true master therapist is a clinician who has the educational training and the life experience to both know where you've been and how to guide you to where you are going. I view therapy as a collaborative experience between the clinician and the client. You are the expert on your own life. I am merely a part of the process. I enjoy all facets of the therapeutic experience: listening, joining, challenging and forming bonds with my clients. If it aligns with my clients needs I do incorporate Christian values and faith into our sessions as well. With close to 10 years of experience as a therapist I have enjoyed narrowing down my areas of expertise and look forward to our journey together. |

There is no person you wouldn’t love if you knew their story. This is one of my guiding principles in life, especially in my work as a counselor. My goal is to provide a safe, non-judgmental, laid-back environment where you can share your story and find ways to heal and attain change. I believe that clients make significant change when they understand what led to the development of their problems and the factors that maintain current symptoms. Together we will address unhelpful thought patterns developed in your past and present behaviors to create sustainable strategies and hope for the future. I work from a trauma informed perspective, and often use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy to help clients meet their goals.

Every person is unique and I desire to use a tailor-made approach supported by evidence based practices for each individual client. I also offer faith integrative counseling if that fits your values and needs. I look forward to working with you as a team to help you reach your goals!

Relationships are the foundation of our lives. Through the quality of our connections with those we care about, we can feel as though we are thriving or they can leave us feeling isolated and alone. Working to strengthen or rebuild connections with others and with ourselves is extremely important to creating a sense of support and acceptance. If our foundation feels secure and safe, we can then allow ourselves to thrive in other areas of our lives. I have special training in relational therapy and how to strengthen these "systems" and the influence they have on our lives.
I believe human beings are much more resilient than we give ourselves credit for. We can break down barriers that we thought we could never make it through, and we can achieve things we could barely allow ourselves to dream of doing. While these things may seem impossible at times, I believe we are capable of much greater things than we may think possible. I also have special training in trauma and EMDR which can be used for individuals, children, and couples. |

Sometimes we hide our pain or get stuck on the how of life. However, starting counseling is a courageous act on the path to finding the why. My why is to help the community that I grew up in with genuine compassion for each person who is struggling. I believe it is important to heal the mind and body together. Even though our body is resilient, it can hold onto things. And our mind can get stuck in loops of negative thoughts or stories in the form of shame, guilt, fear, or resentment. Like gardening, weeds can take over and the only way to reduce them is pulling out the roots. Together we get to the root causes, look at them rationally, and build a toolkit to help build your why or create new stories. You are the expert for your life, I just act as a guide. Beginning the therapy process can sometimes feel like hiking a 14er, but I will be there every step of the way.
If it aligns, I can incorporate faith-based counseling, or mindfulness techniques. I look forward to our journey together and seeing what your new story will be. |

Meet Kristen
You do not need to be at your breaking point to seek support. Many of us feel like we can do everything on our own, but we were made for connection with others. Allow yourself to share your story and work towards knowing yourself in a deeper way. I aim to provide you with a safe space to process, share, and feel without judgment. I am passionate about helping people to explore their lives, finding the path that brings them peace and empowering them to follow it. I believe that when you take the step for yourself you can trust that your time is an investment into your wellbeing and healing.
My approach is always person-centered. I utilize tools from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, family systems, and attachment based approaches. I like to teach mindfulness as a tool to regulate stress, emotions, and the body. I love working with teens and adults to help work through relationship issues, emotional regulation, and navigating deeper challenges. |

"With this one precious life..." This is one of my favorite quotes, and it is empowering to complete. Often we live in the shadows of our pain, failures, projections, and fears. But we can live with authenticity when we know ourselves completely, own our short comings, and step fully into who we are. As a relational therapist in training, I aim to help individuals heal and grow to become more fulfilled in all aspects of their lives.
My aim is to help couples build communication and connection; strengthen their relationships; and build shared meaning. I also help parents build healthy, happy relationships with their kids and establish healthy boundaries. I believe in always trying to move towards a more complete, authentic life, and I am comfortable trudging through the mud to get there! My goal is to help individuals, couples, and families gain deeper understanding of themselves and others; and to navigate life with purpose and clarity. I emphasize collaborative therapy that is non-judgmental and goal oriented. I look forward to working with you! |

I know how challenging and intimidating it can be to choose the right therapist. You want someone that helps you gain insight into yourself and the struggles you’re dealing with in your life. We all need a safe, non-judgmental place to go where we feel heard, accepted, and understood.
After years of studying mind/body practices, I have learned how to effectively guide clients who suffer with deep emotional traumas, depression, anxiety, chronic illness, life transitions, and grief in ways that bring about relief and lasting change. I take an integrative approach to counseling where we can weave modern mental health techniques like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), EMDR, and EBT, with integrative techniques like visualizations and meditation. I meet you where you are with no judgement or expectation. In addition to counseling, I am a certified and trained yoga therapist and have been practicing and teaching yoga for over twenty years. I offer night and weekend sessions. Take the first step and make an appointment with me today! |

Sometimes the most fearless and important thing you can do is show up for yourself. I aim to create a judgement-free space where you can show up just as you are. I believe there are many different approaches to counseling that are beneficial depending on specific needs.
I like to incorporate a holistic focus to address the mind-body connection as well. When we work together, my intention is for you to leave each session with a sense of clarity and self-compassion. I enjoy helping individuals process different stages and seasons of life. As an active-duty spouse, I also find myself passionate about helping military families. I look forward to seeing you meet your goals and become aware of your own inner strengths. |

Relationships play a vital role in our lives. Each one tells the story of who we are and what has happened in our life. Taking the first step to ask for help is courageous, but finding the right counselor/client relationship is key to your growth and healing journey. If we work together, techniques that may be used during sessions include mindfulness, cognitive behavioral therapy, and solution-focused therapy. Faith-based counseling is also something I offer if you are interested in that as a part of your sessions.
As a child life specialist, educator, youth mentor, and grief camp counselor, I have had the privilege to be part of some of the darkest days in the lives of children and families. It has been an honor to be invited into the lives of those walking a painful path. Education and my own past experiences have created me into who I am today and have helped guide me in my career path and passion in walking alongside others during difficult times. |
